What is a Veneer?
Do you ever look in the mirror and wish you had straighter, possibly whiter teeth but you don’t want to do orthodontics or your teeth don’t whiten well? Maybe you just want to improve your smile in two short visits? Whatever your reasons, veneers might be a wonderful solution for you.
Veneers are beautiful restorations that can create perfect teeth without needing orthodontics or whitening. The procedure can usually be completed in two simple visits. The veneers are simply a bonded, porcelain restoration that takes away minimal tooth structure and creates that perfect, white smile without any additional treatment.
At Sloan’s Lake Dental our family dentists cater to those in Denver, Edgewater, and surrounding areas who desire a healthy, beautiful smile. Porcelain composite fillings are a great option for those looking for a simple way to make their smiles more attractive, without a long, drawn-out process. Perhaps your teeth have become dull or dingy, or you aren’t quite happy with their length, shape, or size. Veneers are designed to bond to the front portion of the teeth, making it possible for you to literally change their appearance! In situations where orthodontics are not really the best option, you may want to speak with our cosmetic dentists to learn more about composite fillings and the advantages.
How are Veneers Prepared?
- At the first appointment, teeth are prepped for the restoration.
- An impression of your teeth is taken for the lab, and then temporaries are made that look beautiful. However, they are temporary and not the final restoration.
- After your teeth have been prepared, patients typically visit our dental lab for a custom shade to ensure the coloring of the veneers is flawless thus creating that gorgeous smile.
- Lastly, a patient comes back about 3 weeks after their teeth were prepared where the veneers are seated permanently.
